The Department of Anthropology, University of Utah, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning July 1, 2018. We seek applicants with a record of original research and scientific publication who use genetic and genomic data to study human history, demography and/or adaptation. Relevant specialties include modern or ancient DNA, population genetics and the genetic basis of human adaptation and/or disease. Applicants should have a background in molecular biology, bioinformatics and/or population genetics and a demonstrated ability to generate extramural funding. Post-doctoral research in a modern and/or ancient DNA laboratory and an active field research program will be considered strengths in the search process. Applicants are required to have a PhD in hand at the time of appointment.
